Preseason Game 4: Trail Blazers 118, Warriors 115

by

A big welcome to Lou Amundson, who managed a -19 in only 9 minutes of work. Looks like Ellis and Biedrins joined him for most of the the weakest play of the night at -13 and -14 respectively (Monte also had an “old monta” line of 5-16). Curry was only 3 rebounds shy of a triple double, but also just 2 turnovers away as well.

On the bright side, finally a solid night for Brandon Wright who managed a +3 with 11 points and 6 rebounds in 19 minutes. Lee also was a +3 and had 17 points with 11 rebounds, though he shot an inefficient 7-16 from the field.

In the Miles vs. Adrien sweepstakes, both were scoreless in only 5 minutes each (what’s the point of preseason again?). But Adrien’s team-high +7 vs. Miles -8 certainly speaks volumes.

” What is pre-season for?” is a very valid question especially since it was pretty much over at half-time. Would have liked to have seen more minutes for the bench and figure out that each of these guys can do. Adrien is separating himself from Miles in my opinion, but what to do about the back-up PG? It is going to be a tough call, but searching for the back-up PG last year never turned out well and cost the W’s a roster spot and a draft pick for zero production. Hope that same mistake is not made again. Nice to see B-Wright do something positive. Like I said on Saturday, he is about as close to crossing the bust line as one can be with any hope of making it. Hope I am wrong and showings like this (be it pre-season) give me hope that I am.

That’s the dilemma. Too bad there isn’t a 2-for-1 they could do to free up roster spots for both, as I think they each could give serviceable minutes.
