The Warriors kick off their season in the shadow of the Giants postseason run, so they’ll have a bit of privacy as they try for a better start than last year. Once again, they get to start at home against a Rockets team on the back end of a back-to-back.

There’s only one thing to watch for tonight, and that’s whether the Warriors can get a win. Three keys to the game:

  • Biedrins 10+ rebounds. Is the old Biedrins back? If so, that completely changes the Warriors front court and will allow them to hang with a team like the Rockets.
  • Curry <5 turnovers. His most disturbing trend in the preseason was lack of caution with the ball. Was he just testing the outer limits of the new motion offense, or is he trying to do too much?
  • Monta >50% shooting. The biggest key to Monta making it to the next level is getting his volume shooting under control. If he can make plays while increasing his shooting efficiency, he might finally start earning some respect from around the league.

Just saw that Yao Ming will be held out of the second half of the back-to-back — NO EXCUSES WARRIORS!

Since I am an A’s fan and just a Giant’s bandwagon member (Oakland I may be a bit more loyal if you didn’t threaten to leave Oakland on a consistent basis … you know just saying. Oakland has a nice waterfront too), I will head on over to the FSN and watch the W’s in a bit. Don’t imagine the G’s can lose a 6 run lead … but weirder things have happened … and like that as I wrote this comment 2 outs and 2 runs in to cut it to a 4 run lead.

    Let’s do this!

Monta attacking the rim early – I love it

    • Jake

A little D would be nice but the offense has looked good and the rebounding has too.

      • Christian

yeah no interior D at all. At least knock someone on their ass and earn points on the line.

  • Jake

Jesus Monta is carrying them. And Jesus I cannot Fitz.

  • Ryan

Just turned this on . I like the news unis.

agreed. i really want to get a blue hat with the new logo.

  • Ryan

    What’s with andris’ hair?

    • http://warriorsandwhatever.com Mike

It’s part of his new transformation. He’s no longer “goose” — he’s now “dre”

So I guess that requires a new hairdo.

  • Jake

Half way through the 4th and our answers are yes (maybe but probably not) and YES! On the Curry turnovers he at least has 11 assists to go with his 4 TO as I write which is a decent ratio so not too bummed about it. Now if only someone could get to the line.

  • Jake

    ‘dre fouls out. SHOCKING!

  • Christian

I’d like to see a little more BWright. I feel like he has played well in his ten minutes on the floor.
