Two ex-Warriors get traded for eachother

by

In a trade between the Orlando Magic and the Phoenix Suns, Jason Richardson and Mickael Pietrus got traded for each other.

The trade returns former Magic star Hedo Turkoglu, along with Jason Richardson and Earl Clark, to Orlando in exchange for Vince Carter, Marcin Gortat, Mickael Pietrus, a 2011 first-round pick and cash considerations.

Orlando, losers of five of its last six games, is also close to acquiring Arenas for Rashard Lewis, sources said.

This trade seems to make Orlando better immediately and Phoenix better in the long-term as they get first round draft pick, and maybe some long-term salary relief, but I am not quite sure on that one yet until the cash considerations are released.

Do you see any trades of current Warriors on the docket?

This guy thinks they’re trying to trade both Ellis and Biedrins, though I’m not sure who they’ll get for them — especially now that this trade has gone through.

Not really sure I agree with trading Monta, but maybe they just want a clean balance sheet and a fresh start.

yeah, i used to be in the same boat, but i’m just not sure anymore that you can win with him as your top option. Of course, if Monta gets traded to a contender he’d probably immediately start getting calls (but still miss from the line)

Also forgot to add in the post that an Arenas to Orlando deal appears to be done now too. They seem to be going for it now. Amazing that Washington was able to unload his contract! GM of the year?

They’re taking a decent amount of money back in Lewis’ contract, but still pretty impressive to move him considering the baggage.

Seems likely he’ll be traded before the trade deadline. Fans don’t generally think he should be but it’s pretty clear internally that the team plans to ditch him. If they lose enough with Curry out, they’ll have a perfect talk point set up. PS, Curry’s not hurt.

Wouldn’t be the warriors without some dysfunction I guess. Too bad we can’t swap their “injuries” and see Curry play sans-Monta for a few games.

wiat what are we back to Warrior conspiracies

Well, I definitely think there’s more than meets the eye in terms of what the Warriors are trying to do on the trade front.
