Tonight’s game should give us a clear marker for gauging the Warriors’ progress toward being a true playoff team. I would find it absolutely shocking if they won (5th game of the road trip, equal rest as Miami as both last played on Monday, the Heat still have their upset loss to the Wizards fresh on their minds to motivate against a let-down), but if the Warriors can at least make things competitive until the end I’ll be happy pocketing a moral victory.

Key to the game? Has to be 3-point shooting from Steph and Klay — along with either Barnes or Green getting their shooting back on track and contributing double-digit points to take some of the scoring burden off the rest of the rotation.

The Warriors cross the quarter mark of the season tonight against a Bobcats team that has improved drastically from their record-setting futility last year, though they’re still far from average. Winning tonight would clinch a winning road trip and set the Warriors up for 5-2 or even 6-1 by the time they return to Oakland.

Hopefully the Wizards game was the road-weary trap game of the trip and they’ll come out strong tonight. Curry is likely to try to put on a show for his home-town fans, and as long as he keeps things under control that could be just want they need to keep up the energy and put another road W in the books.

Not pretty, but the sort of gutty road win you need to get against an inferior team.
