The Warriors return to Oracle tonight to face the Thunder for the second time in just over a week. Big question tonight is how to deal with the growing “issue” of the starters vs. the bench. Can the starters force their way onto the court in the fourth? Can Jackson manage things a bit more deftly than he did in Sacramento over the weekend? And can Nate Robinson make us forget about Jeremy Lin all over again?

The Warriors welcome the Jazz to Oracle tonight. What to watch for:

  • Take Advantage: As Kawakami has been pointing out recently, the Warriors have had an incredibly soft early season schedule in terms of Easter Conference teams, home games,  and opponent back-to-backs. They have the last two working for them tonight, and they need to take advantage of it.
  • First Team: The bench famously closed out the win on Tuesday against the Kings, so it will be interested to see if the starters are hungrier tonight. Can they “force” Jackson to leave the on the court during crunch time?
  • Rebounds: Despite the win against Sacramento, the Warriors got killed on the boards yet again with a -15 margin. The Jazz can play big up front with Milsap and Jefferson, so the Warriors bigs will need to step up to avoid another double-digit margin — and a likely loss if the trend continues.

The home stand continues with a chance to make up some ground against a bottom-tier team with…basically the same record as our beloved Warriors. What to watch for tonight:

  • Regrets: I’m hardly missing the Keith Smart era, but he must be enjoying seeing the struggles that Jackson is going through here in the early going. If Smart beats Jackson tonight, the honeymoon will officially be over (if it isn’t already).
  • Regrets 2: I always wonder if things would have been much different if Nellie had gotten the guy he wanted, Jason Thompson, instead of Anthony Randolph (who is apparently still waiting on his breakout). Randolph is obviously long gone (along with Nellie!), and Thompson keeps pumping out decent if not spectacular numbers — he always seems to kill the Warriors, too. Not like he’s some huge difference maker, but I always pay attention considering how close he was to coming to Oakland.
  • Must Win: I know I keep making these laughable “If you want to be a playoff team…” statements, even though we all know this team isn’t going anywhere barring some sort of huge change, but if you want to be a playoff team, you need to beat the damn Kings.

The Warriors welcome the Thunder to Oracle tonight. What to watch for:

  • Crack the code: The Warriors played the Thunder pretty tough last year, winning just one of three but keeping all of them close. Do they still have the right combination to vex this new Western Conference power, or will Jackson’s new style take away this edge?
  • Young 1′s: Curry vs. Westbrook. Tantalizing potential vs. arrived talent with a lower offensive ceiling but a true presence defensively. Who’ll get the best of the matchup tonight?
  • Monta vs. The Star: We all know that Monta gets up big time for his matchups with Kobe, and I would imagine that he’ll go into this game with an extra chip on his shoulder due to the presence of Durant. Usually this leads to a 9-26 night for Ellis, but maybe he’ll have a playmaker’s mentality tonight after a great game as a distributor against Portland. Maybe.
