Well, that had to feel good! The Warriors blew the doors off the joint in the first half, scoring a league-high 84 points before the break. Four starters broke the 20 point barrier, and both members of the starting backcourt were over +40 on the +/-. They shot over 60% from the field, and just a shade below that from three.

Sure, it’s the Raptors, and yeah they ran the score up there a bit by keeping the starters in with a nearly 50-point lead, but it was nice to see that this team can still put the ball in the basket. I just wish that they’d try to play this way more often this year — sure, you aren’t going to win championships by outscoring the opposition, but these Warriors aren’t going to win with defense and rebounding (the one stat they lost on Friday night) either and at least this style is a lot more fun to watch.

Another game with the Warriors up against NCAA tourney play, and I can’t say I’ll be watching the game from the Association. That said, should be a decent chance for the Warriors to win, as the Raptors have been fairly terrible in recent weeks.

Will be interesting to see who wins the rebounding battle between Udoh and the similarly-board-challenged Bargnani, who nonetheless is putting together a solid season. But more important, I hope that Curry can shake his recent poor play and put together a complete game for the first time in a while. We’re starting to run out of games and I’d love to see him get a few solid performances under his belt before he hits the offseason.

A great game sadly overshadowed by the late injury to Monta. The fall sure looked strange as hell, and he’s staying in Toronto while the team travels to New York. Sounds like his back is the issue, so let’s hope it isn’t anything too serious. I don’t expect him back on the road trip.

But other than that, nice win! Curry had a season-high 34 points, and carried the team in the 4th quarter — never bigger than right after Monta went out. Warriors are going to need him to go crazy over the next few games, so this better be an indication that he’s starting to get going.

Lee struggled with fouls but still had a double-double with 14 and 12. Biedrins had 8 and 9 but seemed to play much bigger than that. The two led the Warriors back into positive territory in rebounding +/-, which is still the key to a win for this team.

I said before the game that the bench needed to come up big tonight, and they did from early on. Jeremy Lin and Brandon Wright gave quality minutes in the first half that gave the starters some needed rest — a needed statement from both of them.

After the debacle last night in Detroit, this was an impressive bounce-back and the strongest statement yet in Smart’s young career.

On the back end of a back-to-back, after a dreadful night in Detroit, the Warriors need a bounce-back game in the worst way. What to look for:

  • Lee Bounce-back. Lee has been terrible in the Warriors’ two losses. I think a double-digit rebounding game from Lee is necessary for a Warriors win on the road.
  • Curry Bounce-back. Curry has been a bit slow coming back from his ankle injury, culminating in 10 points on 3-12 shooting last night (0-3 from deep). The Warriors need him to take care of the ball and become an integral part of the offense once again.
  • Bench Bounce-back. After a collective -28 last night, here’s to hoping that the bench can give the team something positive tonight when they’re likely to really need it (especially since Monta played 45 minutes last night).
